A 73-year-old man was shoved to the sidewalk and repeatedly kicked while he was down during a caught-on-camera attempted robbery in Midtown Manhattan on Sunday morning, NYPD said.

The elderly victim was first targeted by a male suspect while buying lottery tickets inside of a convenience store on Eighth Avenue near 40th Street around 10:50 a.m., police said.

The still-at-large brute, who sources said is known to police, approached the victim and tried to grab his wallet, cops said. But the elderly man managed to hold onto his property.

The victim then left the store — but was followed by the suspect who forcefully shoved the man to the sidewalk after he crossed the street, police said.

Surveillance footage released by the NYPD shows the moment the victim, wearing a white hat and blue jacket, plunged to the ground.

At least three horrified bystanders who were standing nearby on the sidewalk backed away during the vicious assault, video shows.

The suspect, in a striped gray and white Nautica sweatshirt and black pants, then towers over the man and kicks him multiple times as he tries to take the victim’s wallet, the clip shows.

The suspect relents and walks away empty-handed after another man approaches the scene, video shows. Police said the suspect fled into the subway entrance on the same corner.

Surveillance video from inside the station shows the suspect hopping the turnstile.

Police said the victim was taken by EMS to Bellevue Hospital. He suffered pain, swelling and an abrasion around his left eye.

Sources told The Post that the suspect is also wanted for a Feb. 14 arson at a Manhattan subway station. He also has 31 prior arrests, the sources added.

The man shot by a Torrington police officer Wednesday afternoon came at two officers with a knife in his hand, according to the Office of Inspector General.

Police responded to a home on Tioga Street just after 4:30 p.m. to conduct a wellness check on 53-year-old Brian Dungan. Dungan was threatening to kill himself, according to the Inspector General.

Two arriving officers found Dungan in the basement of the home. Just-released body camera video from the officers shows Dungan begin to yell at the officers and walk towards them. One of the officers can be heard telling Dungan to drop a knife.

Officer David Kisiel discharged a stun gun, but it was ineffective in stopping Dungan, according to the Inspector General.

Officer Jeffrey Buzzi then shot Dungan three times.

Dungan was first taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and then flown by LifeStar helicopter to Hartford Hospital. He is listed in stable condition.

ROWLETT, Texas - The pilot of a helicopter and a passenger did not survive a fiery crash in Rowlett Friday morning.

The crash happened just before noon, in a field surrounded by a number of businesses in the 2200 block of Lakeview Parkway, which is about two miles west of the President George Bush Turnpike.

The aircraft burst into flames after impact. Dozens of people working nearby rushed to try and save the two people inside, but the flames were too much.

Firefighter were later able to quickly put the fire out.

Rowlett police confirmed the pilot and one other person died in the crash. The victims' names have not yet been released.

The crash site is being preserved until National Transportation Safety Board and FAA investigators arrive Saturday morning.

Video shared by a FOX4 viewer shows a portion of the helicopter separated from the body of the aircraft as it was spiraling to the ground.

The tail rotor separated from the body of the aircraft midair and it landed on a storage building.

Witnesses watched what happened rushed to help, but there wasn't much that could be done.

"I heard an explosion, and a few seconds later, I saw the helicopter hit the ground. I jumped out, it was already in a ball of fire, I jumped out and tried to get him out, but it was too late," Philip Herndon said. "You don’t have a thought, you just try to go help."

"You could see people getting close, you could see them back away shielding themselves, because it was just so hot. It was nothing they could do to save them, unfortunately," John Rangle recalled. "All these areas where he could have hit, it definitely could have caused more casualties."

Rowlett detective Cruz Hernandez was nearby when the crash happened and was the first law enforcement on the scene.

"It was miracle that the helicopter crashed in this commercial vacant lot. It’s surrounded by businesses, no one on the ground was hurt by the helicopter crash or by the debris," he said.

Hernandez was moved by the amount of people rushing to try and help.

"For me, it was hope, that people would help during a tragedy," he said. "You got a helicopter down, it burst into flames, you don’t know if it would burst again."

The tail number of the helicopter showed it was owned by Sky Helicopters, a company in Garland that also provides air resources to FOX 4 News.

It’s a Robinson R-44 modelA helicopter that carries a fair share of safety concerns.

A 2018 Los Angeles Times investigation called the R-44 "exceptionally deadly."

Data collected by the LA Times showed that between 2006 and 2016, there were 42 deadly crashes involving the R-44 in the U.S.

Just last month, an R-44 helicopter crashed into the water off Miami Beach. The pilot reported a violent shaking in the aircraft before losing control. One person died.

And in January, Robinson sent out a service bulletin to R-44 owners, calling on them to replace specific tail rotor blades, issued as spares, because some may crack.

According to the FAA, failures from tail rotor blade cracks can lead to loss of control.

It’s unclear if this helicopter had those affected blades. It’s likely something investigators will try to determine.

MILWAUKEE - A gun battle and subsequent crash on a Milwaukee street was captured by a doorbell camera.

The shooting on the city's northwest side Sunday evening, March 20, ended with a head-on crash between two vehicles.

Milwaukee police say seven people were arrested after the crash near 77th and Lisbon. One of those in custody is a 15-year-old boy.

It is unclear what led to the shooting. But according to the doorbell camera video, you can hear the gunshots being fired before two sedans smash head-on.

Several people ran from the vehicles – and then come back over the next several minutes. One person was trapped in the vehicle and needed to be pulled out by firefighters.

"Not only, ticked off. Right now, I'm still shaking from what happened last night. Because I felt like I was in an actual cop movie. I watch them, I don't want to be part of them," said Jeaninne Bauer, who was at home at the time of the shooting and crash.

Bauer told FOX6 News something needs to be done.

"You think people are viewing this as a game?" asked Bauer rhetorically. "I think so. Because why would you do this? This is your life. If you don't care about anybody else's life, it's your life."

FOX6 News can say a 20-year-old man was arrested on a recommended charge of armed robbery. An 18-year-old woman was also booked on endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, as a party to a crime. Also arrested – three 18-year-old men, a 17-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old boy.

Police say charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
